Reaching the World

Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. – Matthew 28:19-20

We at FBC have hearts that ache for the lost in our community and the world. It is the vision of FBC to send 20 missionaries by the year 2020, with at least half from our church — short-term and full-time.

“Come and follow me,” Jesus said, “and I will make you fishers of men.” – Matthew 4:19

Operation Christmas Child

Every shoe box gift you pack enables us to reach children worldwide with the good news of God's love and the true meaning of Christmas.  FBC is the collection center for the DeKalb County area. We collect the donated boxes and take them to a regional center that routes them to Minneapolis, MN for distribution to children throughout the world.  2016 saw more than 1,700 boxes collected.

Short-Term Missions

Our short-term missions trips have seen people ranging in age from junior high to 80+ years old serving God in such countries as Northern Ireland, Mexico, Papua New Guinea, Russia, Chad, South Africa, Malawi, Dominican Republic and Turkey. We’ve also sent teams to areas in the United States such as Louisiana, Utah, Arkansas, Alabama and Pennsylvania. In 2016 a team went to Poland where they worked with a church plant alongside missionaries supported by FBC, and another team worked with missionaries in South Africa. 2017 saw a short-term team go to the Philippines to work with a church and another team go back to Poland to work with missionaries.

Full-Time Missions

FBC prayerfully and financially supports a number of full-time missionaries serving throughout the world in locations such as Papua New Guinea, Brazil, Chad, South Africa, Cote d'Ivoire, Poland, Southeast Asia, U.S. college campuses and local community groups. Bible translation, aviation, radio, Bible schools, working with college students, etc. are just a few of the hats worn by these missionaries. General information about these missionaries, their ministries and missions in general is available at the Missions Corner in the back of the sanctuary.
